the pause that refreshes.

Maybe not refreshes but’s worth mentioning anyhow.

Good golly Miss Molly, plenty has happened in a mere six months!

An 11th-hour move from the dangerous House of Wincing.
Into the House of the Rampager.
A few weeks later coming home to find the locks changed.
During a snowstorm! – rendering me homeless.
And on the eve of the start of a new job.
And the first job securing an income in three years!

From the House of the Rampager to the House of the Man of God (Not).
Two months later out from there to a house that was a pretty sweet deal at first.
Until the arrival of a new roommate changed everything. Everything.
From there – the House of the Deceiver and (her) Believer to current abode.

Five residences in six months.

Then there’s the job. Three permeations and two departments later and things have stabilized. To a point. This is not a career. Heck, it ain’t meant to be anything other than a means to keep me off the streets.

Which isn’t to say that the job’s without its teachings. I learn from every experience. But housekeeping and laundry are hardly the intellectual stimulation I need; ditto creative encouragement.

However, the people are good and that goes a VERY long ways with me. Because I’ve known plenty of people who aren’t good. And it brings me down when circumstances (forces outside my control) force me to be in their presence.

That’ll do for today.

@capra – Knocking on wood, crossing fingers, reciting the rosary, any gesture of hope is pretty well rendered obsolete by life as you’ve seen it at this blog. In the wake of unbalanced roommates at best and psychotic at worst (lockout in a snowstorm, anyone?!), I’m over the moon when someone normal, ind, courteous and thoughtful crosses my path. Even if it can’t and won’t. Life, this one anywho, is a string of sound bites. If and when the full-version movie will kick in remains to be seen. 🙂
