a birthday, mitigated

My birthday came yesterday and went.

It’s a new day and another revolution around the sun until I’m in the seat marked “birthday girl” again. Simply, I don’t even bother imagining or giving much thought to what a year from now will look like. I don’t enjoy the luxury of stability or predictability of any kind. THIS would describe my life.

Underlying my birthday were contemplations and thoughts about death and not only because of an age closer to finality than birth. I have this distinct feeling that if things don’t begin turning ’round meaningfully and significantly in key areas that … well, I say too much and will say no more. I’m a big big believer that quality of life matters more than life.

So this birthday, more than any to date, spotlighted inner content. I’m not bothered by the concept of a short life; I am bothered by the concept of a long life without soulful meaning and and purpose.

It may be too late for the repair and recovery needed.
Ever rings the reminder that there’s always the next lifetime.
Talk about a motivator to get things done and wrap this baby up!

All in all it was a birthday, mitigated by concerns, contemplations and consequences undreamed up for choices made with the best of intentions.

I don’t know what else to say.

Not sure what to write in response either. One big project to get passionate about? Would that help?
