I’m uninterested in conventionality.
At the same time I appreciatively recognize its value and role and necessity for without it, one could not recognize original thinkers and contributors to society.
If not every year since I’ve blogged, pretty damn close I’ve taken a special and dear moment on Mother’s Day to recognize and pay tribute to the mothers who are forgotten and overlooked … the mothers who fall through the cracks.
the mothers who have sons and daughters killed in wars;
the mothers whose children met violent or sudden deaths;
the mothers who are gay and lesbian;
the mothers who adopted children;
the mothers who relinquished children;
the surrogate mothers;
the human mothers of animals who become like their children;
and every other mother who is outside the box of society and convention.
With a prayerful and loving heart I pause to recognize and acknowledge each and every one of you, wherever you may be in the world.
I never ever forget the mother for whom Hallmark does not make a card.
Bless you. And thank you.
