Think like the thugs.

Forewarned is forearmed.

Knowledge is power.

Awareness is strength.

The best advice I’d offer anyone traveling through life on planet Earth is trust no one, unless s/he proves him/herself trustworthy, and think like the thugs.

In this unsafe world, the latter, combined with common sense and clear sight about reality, offers one of the better forms of protection.

I’m no doe in the woods when it comes to violence and shit in life, including that cast in particular upon children and women.

Still, this message from a pal with connections to the Department of Corrections troubled a nerve. Even if it doesn’t apply to you directly, it’s helpful to share. Too often females tend to be too trusting and/or naive and can only benefit by knowing what’s what.

Think like the thugs. Know what the thugs think. Awareness is a first step toward safety. Now to what’s going down …

“There is a new gang initiation in progress in the Tacoma area. Young children or young girls are placed on the side of the road crying. When a female stops to help, they ask for a ride home. When the driver arrives at the house, she is besieged by waiting gang members, beaten and raped.

“This is not a joke. Hopefully, telling people about the initiation will cause it to be less effective and they will stop.

“Please pass this on to all women you know who live in the Tacoma area.”

{sigh}

    Makes one wonder what punishment would fit the crime.

      @Expat – With all its crime and gangs, this county’s fortunate to have a tough prosecutor. So I don’t doubt for a moment that he’d prosecute to the fullest extent of the law possible. Where the system horribly breaks down is on the DOC side. Among felons nationwide, WA state is known for its early releases, abysmal lack of supervision and Hug-A-Thug mentality and practices. So, in short, it could be reasonably expected that they’d be prosecuted to the fullest, thanks to the county prosecutor, and then eventually back on the streets, thanks to the DOC.

    Incredible…
    Why don’t these people use this creativity for something positive? Disgusting…

    It seems that to even survive, one must replace empathy with fear and distrust.

      @Aubrey – Not necessarily. It is quite possible to be both empathetic and distrusting. It is a matter of recognizing when to turn down the volume of one and up of the other.
