saving shy Oliver

The stork delivered a bundle.

His delivery ain’t what you think. This bundle has four legs. His name is Oliver.

Oliver’s a guesstimated 5 years old. And here’s a portion of Oliver’s story, as my sister, his new human companion, tells it:

He’d been surrendered to a county shelter and left in a small cage in a back room for months. He never got moved up to the adoption area because of shelter overcrowding (please spay and neuter!). He was pulled from the shelter just before he was to be euthanized.

Now, she says, he’s the king of the house with soft beds, good food, lots of toys and two nutty humans who keep telling him they love him. He’s still shy with strangers but is adjusting very well to his new life.

“We adore him.”

So welcome Oliver.

Welcome to your new life and forever home. You will be loved up, adored and cared for in ways you never knew or dreamed existed. Your life will be good, Oliver. Very very good.

May the journey of you and my sister be long and blessed.

Oliver is very cute. The boys would love him. And I would have to look after him. Just as well he has found a good home with your sister.

I wish I could meet Oliver. That plush fur is made for petting.

Yes, welcome Oliver – your life will be good, you have adoring parents and a rather amazing aunt! (and you’re famous too!)

found your note on “Inaformerlifeanexpats” blog and I rather liked it, so I dropped by. Oliver is Gorgeous!!!!!! I’m in the process of trying to buy a short sale home and my biggest excitement is that in addition to Teulu the huge dog-boy, I could get a cat…one that likes huge dog-boys!!!!! He really is lovely!

@mizunogirl – Oliver is indeed a beautiful and interesting chap. The combo of dog and cat can be combustible … or cozy! I hope that future coupling works out for all. (p.s. curious what comment over at expat’s place got your attention!)
