Holiday haiku. Can you?

A day long on dining and short on words.

Inspired by the haiku exercises at a favorite daily writing exercise blog, I’ve followed suit with a Thanksgiving pair. For those unfamiliar, haiku abides by a three-line 5-7-5 pattern, that is, 5 syllables the first line, 7 the second, 5 the last.

On laptop I write
holiday haiku. Can you?
Go to it! Gobble.

Coins in pocket, shoes on feet

“Screeeech!” from the back yard.
Tom Turkey’s at play. No fear.
Tofurkey tonight.
