sojourn by sunlight

The jig is up. Way up. Two years’ overdue up.

Push aside “when push comes to shove,” this is Shove. All forces, circumstances and conditions are lining up and aligning themselves toward one single profound purpose: Get the hell outta Dodge.

The months, weeks, days, hours, minutes of research and tending to the details coupled with intense intuitive searchings have yielded two equally viable relocation candidates.

A tentative selection of one is made; however, that doesn’t preclude the other from sliding into the forefront this week or next. That’s how it’s been, seesaw action for a while.

The jig is up, indeed. Indeed.

Words have been written in abundance and words not enough on Tacoma and my experience of it in the past four years. One can beat a dead horse only so long until all of one’s very life force is drained and the horseman collapses exhausted on stilled horse hide, too tired to shed even one more tear.

Now is not the time for the dead horse or regrets.

Now is the time to draw from every depleted muscle and ligament one more last droplet of strength for the get up and go so overdue. It can be done. Will it be easy? No.

Now is not about “easy.” Now is about change. Significant change. Sweeping change. Change of place and space. Change for the better. Change for survival. Change in the hope of a brighter future.

Change from the glum and gloom and gray of the darkness. Change into sunlight.

The sun shall guide my way. The sun here in the Pacific Northwest as elusive as the snow leopard shall be the fuel for my tired damp bones and the soles beneath my chilled feet and the whistle in my heart.

Let the journey unfold by divine design. Let my every step be a toehold on a ray.

It is happening, the move that saves my life and my future …
