Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see – Mark Twain

It matters not what you love, only that you love.

On Valentine's Day, I'm equal opportunity, outside conventional thought that it's a day reserved for heterosexual couples, spouses and romantic others.

The heart is outside of gender; that is, mine is. It cares. In its language, that is enough for it.

May each of you have something or someone you care about … a friend, an animal, a plant, a project, a piece of work, a cherished item.

Whatever it may be and however unlikely the coupling, may you take a moment to say, if only silently in your heart: Thank you for existing.
