The pause that refreshes: part deux

The year of that Coca-Cola slogan's birth: 1929.

I waded into a pool of others. Some work and some … well, read on and judge for yourself.

    * 1886 – Drink Coca-Cola.

Can’t get any more basic than that.

    * 1905 – Coca-Cola revives and sustains.

Like a hospital respirator?

    * 1917 – Three million a day.

Who can drink that much? And we won’t even count the calories.

    * 1925 – Six million a day.

Goddamn, imagine the sugar crash.

    * 1926 – It had to be good to get where it is.

Huh?

    * 1927 – Around the corner from anywhere.

Even in the middle of the Mojave?

    * 1939 – Coca-Cola goes along.

Aren’t there enough conformists in the world?

    * 1939 – Coca-Cola has the taste thirst goes for.

Don’t end a sentence with a preposition.

    * 1939 – Whoever you are, whatever you do, wherever you may be, when you think of refreshment, think of ice cold Coca-Cola.

Think of a shorter slogan please.

    * 1942 – The only thing like Coca-Cola is Coca-Cola itself.

Is this a Zen koan?

    * 1952 – What you want is a Coke.

Psychic abilities. I like that in a soft drink.

    * 1963 – Things go better with Coke.

Till you pull one over the dealer. Oh, you meant the beverage.

    * 1993 – Always Coca-Cola.

Hate to rain on the parade but only sometimes.

    * 2006 – The Coke Side of Life.

Is that anything like the wild side?
